Asuran is a Tamil action, gangster, drama film directed by VetriMaaran, starring Dhanush, Manju Warrier in lead roles. The movie is based on a novel Vekkai by Poomani. Last year we got  to see a stunning film Vadachennai from the Dhanush – Vettrimaaran combo, and all were excited for Asuran as they took this film before the sequel of Vadachennai. Every time this  combo joins, they give an exceptional movie for us, let it be Polladhavan, Pudhupettai, Vadachennai and now Asuran, each movie has something exciting to offer the viewers.

Asuran movie talks about rivalry between two families for a land. The incidents involved in this leads to a crime and some chase. the movie has a lot of performance oriented scenes, as the actor here is Dhanush, there are few stunning performance by him. Dhanush shines in the role of Sivasami. He amazingly did the role of a middle aged family man and also his acting during the flash back portions were exceptional. Manju Warrier got a powerful character in Asuran. She as pachaiyamma, wife of Sivasami did some eye catching performance. She got an extraordinary Tamil debut, also the presence of lady superstar made Asuran even more natural. The other star casts like Aadukalam Naren, Ken Karunas, Teejay Arunasalam, Pasupathy, Prakash Raj and all the others were apt for their characters. All were important for the movie and gave their best.

G.V.Prakash – one of the most valuable person behind the awesomeness of Asuran. His Songs and BGM gave the movie a soul. Asuran will be easily one of his best as a music director and also Asuran will be there in top 5 albums in 2019. This man won’t never disappoint us as he always come up with some amazing tones. The cinematography by Velraj was extraordinary. He deserves a good appreciation as he did a fabulous work in Asuran, the action sequences before the Interval was shot well, also the climax portions. The editing by Ramar is another highlight, the movie is edited well. Usually Vetrimaaran movies will be slow paced, but here the story is different. Asuran is more crispier and racy. No such unwanted scenes are there. All the casts and crew did their part perfectly in this movie.

On the downside, the story is not a new one. In the past, we saw few movies with a similar story line of Asuran, also the story is predictable and develops without any twists and turns. But the vetrimaaran treated the movie in a different way. With an amazing story and engaging screenplay, Asuran is a new experience with the right mix of Vetrimaaran spices. Watch the movie if you are a fan of performance oriented movies, The movie will never makes you bored and has all the elements that will make you glued to your seats.

Review : Asuran is another awesome movie from Dhanush – Vetrimaaran. The movie is so so amazing with stellar performance by all the cast, great visuals, the best album & BGM by G.V. Prakash, and above all, an extraordinary story. This combo needs to happen again, especially with Dhanush – Vetrimaaran – G.V.Prakash.
