Adhyarathri is a Malayalam family, comedy entertainer directed by Jibu Jacob, starring Biju Menon, Aju Varghese, Anaswara Rajan in lead roles. The incidents in the movie happens in a small island village Mullakkara in Kerala. Biju Menon appear as Manoharan, who is a popular person in that village and everyone consider him as their family member, he is the decision maker for villagers of Mullakkara. Few incidents make him a marriage broker, who only arrange the marriages for everyone in that village. He is against love and love marriages, so the youth and the lovers hate him. the movie is a funny ride throughout. Manoj Guinness as Kunjatta is a friend of Manoharan and he is like an assistant of Manoharan. the comedy scenes by this combo is nice. There are many people like Biju Sopanam, Aju Varghese in the movie to make you laugh. Also the supporting characters like Vijayaraghavan, Sarjano Khalid and others did their part well.

After the success of Thanneer Maththan Dinangal, Anaswara Rajan plays an important character in this film. But every time when we see her on screen, it feels like she is too young and not fit for that character, especially in that Baahubali song with Aju Varghese. even though she acted well, it was not comfortable. Casting her for that character was a foolish decision, she is too young for this character.

Aju Varghese was amazing as usual. This time more like a serious character, he also had many one liners, which worked out well.

Technically the movie is beautiful with cinematography, songs and in other areas. But the story and screenplay by Jebin and Sharis messed up everything. The writing was not that good and the screenplay was confused. The movie quickly moves to the next scene making the previous scene incomplete. Those who are expecting another Vellimoonga or Munthiri Vallikal Thalirkkumbol from the director, you will be disappointed. The movie is not up to the mark and stands below these two movies. There was some characters who appears in between, but later they don’t appear in any of the scenes, think the writer forgot about them. some one liners and comedies were good, but most of them misfired. From the writing to the casting, all was imperfect. Few comedies and the cast made the movie a watchable one (Not Anaswara Rajan), especially Biju Menon and Manoj Guinness.

Review : Adhyarathri is a one time watch and forget flick, with few worked out comedy scenes. Biju Menon, Manoj Guinness, Biju Sopanam, Aju Varghese is the savior for a movie with weak story, screenplay, and poor casting. Please Note, don’t keep in mind that the movie is from Jibu Jacob, who made Vellimoonga and Munthiri Vallikal Thalirkkumbol.

“Kunjakko Boban, veruthe pennungale vazhi thettikkan ”  🤣 🤣
