LAXMII Review

Laxmii is a 2020 Bollywood Horror, Comedy thriller, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in lead roles.

Laxmii revolves on Asif (Akshay Kumar), who is fear of ghost from his childhood, and always get scared by abnormal or sudden activities. When a deceased soul Laxmii chooses Asif’s body to pay back her vengeance on the person who is the reason for her death, the life of Asif and his family starts facing problems. Rest of the movie shows us how Asif manage to handle this situation, also taking into consideration that he is scared of paranormal activities. Kiara Advani as Rashmi is the female lead of Laxmii. Even though the character didn’t have a strong presence in the film, her scenes with Akshay Kumar was interesting, especially the Burj Khalifa song visuals. The flash back story of Laxmii holds back the viewers with an emotional appeal. All the other casts contributed well.
The Cinematography of Laxmii was extraordinary, especially towards the climax scenes. Raghava Lawrence, who was the original actor of the Kanchana movie series, he better understands the character and plot as an actor and director. He succeeded in bringing a different version of Kanchana with the stunning performance from Akshay Kumar. But somewhere, the viewers who have watched the original version can feel that the energy and the punch are lacking in Laxmii, which we got from Raghava Lawrence in Kanchana movies. The other highlight of Kanchana was it’s Background score and songs, Laxmii’s songs and background scores couldn’t create the impact as the original.
We just wanted to remind you, please don’t take your brilliance to watch this fictional or fantasy movie. You are definitely going to enjoy watching Laxmii.
