Those days, the movies promoted using wall posters and cut-outs are over. Ever wondered why no movies are running more than 50 days nowadays? In the past, we had many movies which ran for more than 100 days. Even we had a few iconic movies which ran for one year with an average occupancy of 45% above. Now hardly the movies past the 50 days theatrical run.

Like every other industry, the entertainment industry too stepped into digital strategies for digital promotions and releases. More than the box office numbers, it’s equally important for a star or movie to have a social media popularity and records in their name. With the arrival of the Digital streaming platforms like Prime Videos by Amazon, Netflix etc.., The movies are officially released within a couple of months. This is the main reason that the long theatrical run for movies is not happening nowadays. As per the theatre owners and distributors, due to this, the people are waiting to watch the movies in these digital platforms and comparatively the footfalls for a normal movie is getting reduced. In a way, this will leads to creating quality movies, and hope one day the dirty business of some multiplex to charge a heavy amount for the food and services comes to an end.

Apart from the movies, nowadays, we have been seeing the trend of mini web series and short movies available on the internet. A lot of investments and efforts are put on for making this happen. The quality web series of the different genre is getting praised by viewers. In other words, this is sometimes getting more reach and popularity. We will see many more similar web series released in future, which will be also having the prominent persons behind the big screen.

The major advantage of the Digitalization is, the trend won’t fade away, rather it will keep developing into large scale and will make you mint money.
